IT Facilities

The Society's IT facilities support many aspects of work in the Society.

Our IT facilities assist many of the Society's volunteers by playing an important part in the production of plant labels, leaflets, guides and journals, and provide an extensive source of information to members.   With internet access in the members' building, members can access the internet using computers in the library and laptops in the members' room and in reception.

Our datastore is expanding all the time and currently includes the plant database, library catalogue, image archives, journal index and weather station data readings.  All of this is centrally stored and accessible to members using the LHS computers.

We also have digital microscopes, for investigating those pesky pests and looking at the finer details of our plants.

Some of our volunteers are involved in maintaining the datastore, digitising our archives and keeping our website up-to-date.

The Society also runs courses from time to time to help members with digital photography.
