How the flowers came to be with Julian Sutton

Of all the stuff plants do, it's the flowering that gets gardeners most excited.  Julian discusses the biological origins of enormous diversity amongst flowers, and of flowers themselves.  It's science-meets-gardening, but nothing too heavy, illustrated by interesting, often little-known and (usually) garden-worthy plants.  Having started out as an academic, botanist Dr Sutton caught the cultivating bug while working at Ness gardens and, with his wife, Sarah, set up, and for 20 years ran, Desirable Plants, a successful specialist nursery.
